Hi I’m Kerri (she/her) - welcome to Inclusive Counselling Care. I am originally from London and moved to Sydney for work just over eight years ago. My main areas of interest include trauma, depression and anxiety, relationships, couples and family counselling and working with clients who are sexually and gender diverse as well as from different racial backgrounds. I work both short and long term with clients. As an LGBTQI friendly counsellor, I have worked with members of the community with their general therapeutic needs, as well as those who sought support during the coming out process, faced homophobia, biphobia and/or transphobia, were experiencing queer intimate partner abuse and sexual abuse and/or assault

Approach Description: Counselling with Inclusive Counselling Care will be collaborative and will go at your own pace. I will not judge you, make you talk about anything that feels too painful until you are ready and I will not tell you what to do. Sometimes people can feel daunted by the prospect of counselling, thinking “if I start to open up, who knows what might come out!” But there is absolutely no pressure to talk about specific details of traumatic memories. Sometimes people think they have to be “crazy” or have mental health issues, or have experienced a severe trauma to go to counselling. My response is, if it’s important to you then it’s worth talking about with someone. It doesn’t matter how small you think the issue is, talking about it can help.

Kerri Parke Practice Description
Inclusive Counselling Care offers high quality, trauma informed counselling for individuals, couples & families. Supervision for counsellors and other practitioners in the helping professions is also available. There are times when we all need someone to talk to. Often, family and friends can offer valuable advice. But talking to a qualified counsellor provides an impartial, objective and non-judgmental space to empower you to work out the best solutions to problems in your life, relationships or work. Counselling can help you with things like trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, bereavement, loss and stress. I trained in the UK and have been working as a therapist for over 16 years. I worked therapeutically with individuals and couples in private practice, adolescents in high schools and provided organisational supervision to frontline domestic violence workers, child protection social workers and teaching assistants in nurseries, primary and high schools. I am a trauma informed counsellor, with experience of providing trauma informed counselling to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, both recent and historic. I also work with people with disabilities who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect and exploitation. Inclusive Counselling Care practices on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. I acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, and that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging. I acknowledge the intergenerational trauma that exists within Indigenous communities as a result of genocide, land theft and continued discrimination. Inclusive Counselling Care is an LGBTQI+ safe space. I have undertaken training from ACON in Sydney, as well as from similar organisations in the UK. I have also had professional experience working with queer clients, as well as having my own queer identity and journey.
