* My approach as a therapist is to first, help clients to identify the areas they are not happy with, second, to help them to define specific goals in regards to what they want to change, and then to support them as they work to make the changes. * I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the single most important piece of the therapeutic process and I work to meet every client where they are, no matter where that might be. * My practice is a place where there is never judgement or criticism, as my goal is to help you to define your life on your own terms. * My communication style is kind, honest, and thoughtfully direct. * My therapeutic style is rooted in positive psychology, realistic goals, and incremental change. * Clinically, I am Integrative and draw from many therapeutic modalities as I strive to effect change in highly personalized ways that are not overwhelming to clients. * I have extensive experience with 18-27 year olds (especially college students). * I enjoy working with adults of all ages up through senior citizens. * I work occasionally with younger adolescents and couples depending on the specific circumstances. * I have worked with people from many ethnic and cultural backgrounds and from all socio-economic levels. * I am happy to work with people in the LGBTQ community as well as people with non-traditional relationship dynamics such as polyamory and open marriage. * I enjoy working with people who are dealing with grief ( that may sound strange, but I believe having support from someone that is comfortable working with grief and death is important and it can sometimes be hard to find. Which is why I mention it here).
