Treatment Approach
- Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
Approach Description: My approach is primarily Depth/Jungian and Humanistic, though I try my best to adapt my approach to meet the needs of my clients, their values, and their cultural background. I encourage a foundation of acceptance & self-compassion, providing space for all parts to be discovered and expressed so that healing can occur. My approach can include EMDR, art therapy, dream work, or just talk therapy. My approach is also client-centered, I support my clients to reach their goals, with the understanding that clients are the experts on their own lives.
Art therapy is meant for anyone who would like to explore through art, no experience with art is needed! Art therapy is a great way to explore unconscious/ unknown parts of ourselves, as well to express that which cannot fully be expressed verbally. Art materials are provided at in-person sessions.
