Education: Nic received his Master of Arts Degree in Applied Sociology from Northern Arizona University. Mr. Showalter is a Certified Addiction Counselor-III (CAC-III) and is also, trained and certified, as a Trauma Therapist and Sex Therapist.

  • Average Session Fee Nic’s fees are reasonable at $100 for a 50-minute session, and $150 for a 80-minute couples/family session. Group sessions are $30.00 per client, per group.
  • Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
  • Nic’s fees are reasonable at $100 for a 50-minute session. He also operates a sliding scale fee structure starting at $50 for a 50-minute session for clients experiencing financial difficulties. His fees for trauma, mental health and/or substance abuse evaluation with a written report are $200, and $250 if needed within 3-5 days. Nic operates a cash and insurance(Cigna) practice and accepts all forms of payment including credit cards and flex spending/health savings account cards.

Nic has been in the field of evaluation and counseling since 1994, and has vast experience in the use of evidence based treatment modalities. Nic is specially trained and certified in the areas of Trauma Treatment, Substance Abuse/Dependence, Mental Health and Sex Therapy. He has trained under the Clinical Director at the University of Colorado CeDAR program and through the Kempe Center for the latest in trauma treatment protocols. He is a caring and compassionate practitioner.
