Treatment Approach
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Reality Therapy / Choice Theory Focuses on present choices and taking responsibility for actions. It helps clients create more fulfilling relationships and lives.
Approach Description: I use a gentle, relational approach while incorporating DBT, mindfulness, internal family systems, and motivational interviewing in my work. I partner with clients as an ally and collaborator, viewing therapy as an opportunity to gain better self-understanding and acceptance while dismantling oppressive and hurtful beliefs projected onto clients by themselves or others.

I partner with clients as an ally and collaborator, viewing therapy as an opportunity to gain better self-understanding and acceptance while dismantling oppressive and hurtful beliefs projected onto clients by themselves or others. Many of my clients discover that they are neurodivergent later in life and have a desire to better understand themselves, their identity, and their lived experiences through this lens. Frequently explored themes in sessions include autistic burnout, managing executive functioning challenges, and compassion fatigue. Over time, clients will begin to identify and communicate what they need from others and themselves in order to feel content and supported.
