My own childhood was marked by many challenges, and it was my determination to rise above those hardships that inspired my path into counseling. I earned my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Barry University while teaching full-time and raising three children. That experience deepened my understanding of balance, perseverance, and the power of compassion. Throughout my training, I discovered the importance of nurturing the whole person—spirit, soul, and body. While addressing symptoms can provide temporary relief, lasting healing begins at the root. I often compare it to a gardener pulling out weeds: simply trimming the tops may make the garden look better for a while, but unless the roots are removed, they will return. In therapy, when we work together to uncover and resolve the deeper causes of distress, you can experience genuine growth and transformation. My goal is to help you cultivate resilience and create meaningful change so you can move forward with renewed energy, healthier relationships, and a greater sense of fulfillment.

Treatment Approach

  • Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: I believe that our hardships and mistakes do not define who we are or what we can accomplish, and that even the most painful experiences can become powerful catalysts for positive change in our lives. In counseling we will work together as partners to create a plan that brings your symptoms under control, explore the roots of your distress, gently remove the sources of your pain and frustration, and celebrate your hard work, determination, and growth along the way. Your plan will be unique to you—there are no rigid protocols or “one size fits all” formulas—because I offer an individualized, holistic approach that honors your spirit, soul, and body. I integrate current research showing that healing is most effective when the whole person is cared for, recognizing that your thoughts, emotions, and body are all impacted during stress and can continue to carry symptoms until they are resolved. Depending on your needs and preferences, I will carefully combine strategies and techniques from several therapeutic approaches to provide warm, client-centered care that feels both effective and deeply supportive. I am dedicated to walking with you through life’s most difficult challenges, using clinically sound interventions that help you regain peace, manage your symptoms, and build healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. With your individualized healing plan, you will have a clear, compassionate roadmap toward emotional balance, more satisfying relationships, and lasting resilience, so that you can meet future challenges with confidence and hope.

Resilient Counseling, Coaching & Consulting Practice Description
***In-Person and Telehealth Therapy available. My office is located in Oviedo, Florida 5 minutes from Highway 4-17 and 10 minutes from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. I offer both in-person and Telehealth therapy Monday through Saturday with times available during the morning, afternoon, and evenings. ***Therapeutic Approach: I offer a warm, client-centered approach that blends heart and science to support your healing. Instead of focusing on what is “wrong” with you, we look at how old patterns and learned beliefs may be holding you back and gently work on replacing them with ways of thinking and relating that feel safer, stronger, and more hopeful. Together, we will make sense of the thoughts, emotions, and body tension that have been weighing on you, so you can move toward greater confidence and peace in daily life. Along the way, I’ll teach you simple, practical tools to calm anxiety, lift low mood, and help your nervous system feel more regulated and steady. ***Specializations: I work with adults who are struggling to manage under the weight of life's challenges, whether it comes from past trauma, ongoing anxiety or depression, chronic health challenges, or big life changes like grief, divorce, or starting over. I also support people who struggle with codependency, setting boundaries, procrastination, and stress, especially when they feel stuck in patterns they cannot seem to change on their own. We will explore how your experiences have shaped the way you see yourself, others, and the world, and how those patterns may be affecting your relationships, health, and daily life. My goal is to help you feel safer, more understood, and more in control, so you can move toward a life with less overwhelm and more clarity, connection, and calm. ***What Will Therapy Be Like? In the first two sessions, we will focus on gathering your history, clarifying your concerns, setting goals, and providing coping skills you can begin using right away. As sessions progress, you will learn to manage your symptoms, work toward your goals, and develop lasting resilience so you feel more prepared to handle future challenges. ***Insurance and Private Pay: I accept in-network insurance and also work with a company that speeds up and smooths out the process of using out of network benefits. So even if you don't see your insurance carrier listed as in network, ask about out of network support. I also accept private pay clients for standard 53‑minute sessions, as well as shorter and longer sessions when needed, with a standard rate of $120 per session and a sliding scale for qualifying clients. Group therapy sessions are available at rates typically ranging from $40 to $80, depending on the length of the group and resources provided.
