Treatment Approach

  • Art Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
  • Family Systems
Approach Description: My professional interests lean towards working with trauma and families through creative means, and I am trained in Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), Instinctual Trauma Response (ITR) trauma therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, all underpinned by a foundation of art and expressive therapy. I always meet the client where they are at for that session, and sometimes this means just making art, just talking, working on skills, or a combination of all three. When working with children, I appreciate the tough job that parents have and often meet with parents to help extend some of the work being done in session into the home environment. I engage in a wrap-around model of care by being open to collaboration with all professionals and other adults working with the child. To this end, I invite siblings or the whole family to a session when the client agrees and the family would benefit from a systems approach.
