Roland Achtau

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, LCADC, MAPC
I have a MA in pastoral counseling from Liberty University. Being a Christian in these modern times demonstrates the importance of having a biblically informed worldview to address the life changes that people of faith face. I believe the bible is the word of God and is powerful in helping one overcome different issues. I also incorporate a holistic approach to touch on other key issues of the person.

At LEAPS we approach Christian Counseling by first learning about client’s spiritual history, faith preferences, and commitments. We adopt a systematic protocol to gather relevant information about their Christian faith. A clinical spiritual assessment is conducted prior to the implementation of any prescribe treatment approach, thereby achieving consistently favorable solution-driven outcomes. For example, we use the FICA tool: faith, importance, community, and address protocol: • Do you consider yourself a person of faith and how would you describe your faith tradition? • What importance does your faith have in your life? • Are you a member of a local church or faith community? • How would you like me to address these spiritual matters? Ultimately, our goal is to use Christian principles integrated with proven therapeutic approaches to help resolve your mental health challenges.

Hope I. Hills, Ph.D.

Psychologist, Licensed Psychologist in NC, Authorized PsyPact Practitioner in 40 states
Growing up in a Christian home, I found that I needed to run away from those beliefs for many years. That is what it took to open my eyes to a relationship with God that honors every part of my life and excites me to explore my faith with a demand that it supports my science as a psychologist and integrates the models and theories I use in my practice. If a client wants a focus on Christianity, I am happy to take that focus. If not, I do approach our work with the belief that every aspect of our lives can work together for our good.
