Louisville, Kentucky therapist: Gina Majestro, psychologist
Borderline Personality Disorder

Gina Majestro

Psychologist, PsyD, HSP, HSPP
Sometimes it feels like you’re doing everything “right,” but inside, it’s chaos — emotions feel too big, relationships feel uncertain, and you’re just exhausted from trying to hold it all together. You might feel like you’re too much one moment and not enough the next. Maybe you’ve carried deep pain for years, and you’re just ready for something to finally shift. I work with adults who live with the intensity, sensitivity, and strength that often come with BPD. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your experience. Together, we’ll explore the protective parts and patterns that helped you survive — and build new ways of feeling grounded, connected, and worthy of stability and care. You don’t have to navigate this alone. Healing is possible, even if you’ve tried before and nothing seemed to work. I offer virtual therapy for adults in Kentucky, Indiana, and across 42 PSYPACT states. If you’re ready to move from surviving to truly living, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Frederick, Maryland therapist: Dr. Brian Sharpless, psychologist
Borderline Personality Disorder

Dr. Brian Sharpless

Psychologist, Ph.D., Clinical Psychology; M.A., Philosophy
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a very treatable condition. However, it can be misdiagnosed for other disorders, and this can delay treatment gains. Following a thorough evaluation to establish BPD, I use one of three forms of contemporary psychodynamic therapy (i.e., Transference-Focused psychotherapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment, or Supportive Therapy) alone or in combination. All of these therapies have been tested in clinical trials. I have published professional works (e.g., articles; a book) on psychodynamic therapy. Please note that I do not do couple's therapy and that I will not schedule appointments intended for other people (e.g., spouses, family members). All potential patients must contact me directly.

Hearing you have a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder can be confusing and frightening to say the least. Often people who have received this diagnosis experienced a great deal of neglect and trauma during their childhood. In order to survive, patterns and thoughts and behavior developed and were very likely necessary as your survival into adulthood. However, these same skills have left you feeling isolated, alone and alienated. The fact that you are here, suggest you have all the tools needed to start the process of recovery. I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy: DBT is one of the researched evidence based practices in treating borderline personality disorder (BPD.) Developing a therapeutic relationship first and foremost in a safe, compassionate, honest and affirming space will assist in understanding, managing, and addressing BPD at it's core.
