Our esteem of ourselves is always relational, meaning when we assess our value or worth, it's in relation to others. With low self esteem the 'other' is always so much better. More industrious. More intelligent. Better looking. My four part program allows you to see the inaccuracy of your judgments and to value yourself more highly.

When our self-esteem is low it can feel like everyone else in the world is 'getting it' but us. To my mind, low self-esteem, self-judgement, shame and isolation all co-exist cosily together and create fertile ground for each other. Because self-judgement will undermine our self-esteem, and lead to us feeling ashamed of ourselves. This happy combination then naturally leads us to draw inwards, away from the gaze of the world around us, and into isolation where nobody can see how 'worthless' we are (or believe ourselves to be). Addressing this inner critic or inner judge is one of the keys to reclaiming our self-esteem.

Low self-esteem can be caused by many things. Regardless of why you may experience low self-esteem, I am here to help you feel more confident and connected. Psychodynamic psychotherapy, particularly the Conversational Model, can be especially helpful in improving self-esteem.

Self-esteem is built every day. Our thoughts and behaviours either serve us and our self-esteem or erode us and our self-esteem. As a therapist, I help my clients address any self-limiting beliefs they might have about themselves and their abilities. We will also address their personal self-talk to change it from negative to positive if needed.
