Fatma Aydin, PhD

Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
It is often difficult to ask for support in the face of life’s challenges, and I appreciate you taking this step! I work with young adults and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, life transitions, and identity and self-esteem concerns, among others. My goal is to create a comfortable and safe space where we work collaboratively to help you face those challenges and make the changes you desire to live a more fulfilling life. We all have vulnerabilities, and strengths we often don’t realize. I therefore work with my clients to build on their strengths and resilience, and develop self-compassion. I recognize the impact of culture on our identities and experiences and I have enjoyed working with clients from diverse backgrounds at outpatient, community mental health, and university counseling settings. These included the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University, DePaul University and University of Illinois at Chicago. I welcome clients from all walks of life and feel humbled by their willingness to invite me to be a part of their journey.

When deciding to see a therapist, it can be extremely challenging to choose someone to work with. I hope to be there with you in therapy as you work to discover new levels self-understanding, compassion, and insight. Most individuals decide to start therapy after encountering emotional distress that has left them overwhelmed, and as though they have lost control of their life. I work collaboratively with my clients to find ways in which they are able to regain a sense of control, empowerment, and purpose in their lives. Important to our work will be the concept that our relationship, and the exploration of that relationship, will help you make discoveries about other important relationships in your life. Although this work can be challenging at times, it can lead to improvements in your social interactions, mood, and anxiety. While I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of individuals, I specialize in LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy, ADHD, anxiety, depression, chronic shame, couples/relationship challenges, and non-traditional relationships. I am currently seeing new clients in my Dupont Circle office, and I look forward to answering any of your questions.

Ashley Evans

Counselor/Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Personal Coach
"Relatable", "warm", and "easy to talk to" might be used to describe my approach. Understanding your story, who you are and where you want to go is the foundation of the therapist/client relationship we have. Honesty and compassion mixed with a dose of intention and self awareness can be life-changing.

Marriage and Family Therapist, DMin, LMFT, BCPCC, BCPC
I work hard to put my self out of a job with every client. I work to get everyone to the point where they say, "I'll take it from here, Dr. John." When I've done my job of helping clients deal with their concerns, give the tools to deal with future concerns, and increase the hope that the concerns can continue to be resolved away from my office, clients are ready to continue "without the net." If they get stuck on something, they come back in for a quick "unstuck" and go back out to take on the world.
