Mae Winters
Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC
Living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can feel emotionally exhausting and confusing. Intense emotions, fear of abandonment, relationship instability, and difficulty regulating reactions can make daily life and connections feel overwhelming. Many individuals with BPD have experienced chronic invalidation or relational trauma and are often deeply sensitive, intuitive, and emotionally aware.
I work with adults diagnosed with BPD or who identify with BPD traits to help them better understand their emotional patterns, strengthen distress tolerance, and build more stable, fulfilling relationships. Therapy focuses on developing skills for emotional regulation, improving communication, and increasing self-understanding while reducing impulsive or self-defeating behaviors. My approach is structured, compassionate, and collaborative, with an emphasis on consistency, safety, and growth over time.
Treatment is paced intentionally and grounded in evidence-based strategies that support long-term change. My goal is to help clients feel more stable within themselves, more secure in relationships, and more confident in their ability to navigate intense emotions without being overwhelmed by them.

CBT Center
Psychologist, ABPP, A-CBT
BPD can make relationships, emotions, and everyday life feel really intense, really fast. The good news: it's very treatable. At The CBT Center, we specialize in DBT and CBT, which are the gold-standard approaches for BPD. We help patients build skills for managing emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and creating a life that actually feels worth living. Our team is warm, nonjudgmental, and genuinely experienced with this work. You're not too much for us.

Dr. Brian Sharpless
Psychologist, Ph.D., Clinical Psychology; M.A., Philosophy
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a very treatable condition. However, it can be misdiagnosed for other disorders, and this can delay treatment gains. Following a thorough evaluation to establish BPD, I use one of three forms of contemporary psychodynamic therapy (i.e., Transference-Focused psychotherapy, Mentalization-Based Treatment, or Supportive Therapy) alone or in combination. All of these therapies have been tested in clinical trials. I have published professional works (e.g., articles; a book) on psychodynamic therapy. Please note that I do not do couple's therapy and that I will not schedule appointments intended for other people (e.g., spouses, family members). All potential patients must contact me directly.
