She says “as a psychotherapist for over 30 years, I believe there is nothing more important than the well-being of our children. I specialize in providing psychological therapy and psychoeducational services to children, adolescents aged three to eighteen and their families. Parents come to me concerned about such issues as attachment, adoption, concentration and attention problems, learning and developmental disabilities, behavior challenges, abuse and neglect, and emotional issues that include anxiety and depression.
There is a focus on the child’s strengths. Intervention strategies are outlined, and a specialized treatment plan is put into place. The child's parents are always central in the process.
Kathianne Smith is Adoption Competent (TAC trained) & is trained in formal Attachment Assessments & Theraplay. Her specializations also include: Parenting, including around divorce, Step-parenting, Adoption & related issues, Attachment disorder, Autism spectrum disorder, and being a Trauma Informed & Certified Competent Trauma Professional, & EMDR II trained with extensive experience partnering with clients of all ages to resolve the negative effects of trauma.”
