In-Person in Ann Arbor, MI 48103
I work with adults who feel worn down by trauma, spiritual or religious harm, and identity-related stress. Many clients arrive feeling “functional” but internally stuck in fear, shutdown, shame, or exhaustion. My office is a place to bring the real story without needing to minimize it.
I’m a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who blends psychotherapy with careful, collaborative medication support when useful. Sessions often include parts work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR principles, with practical skills from ACT to help you move toward values, not just symptom control. I welcome LGBTQ+ clients and people recovering from SOGICE experiences with special care and respect. We move at your pace and build change meant to last.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Christian Counseling Blends psychological practices with Christian values and scripture. It provides faith-based support for life challenges and spiritual growth.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Schema Therapy Identifies deep-rooted negative patterns formed in childhood. It combines CBT, attachment theory, and experiential methods for change.
Approach Description: My work focuses on safety, clarity, and helping you understand what your symptoms are trying to do for you. Anxiety, perfectionism, shutdown, people-pleasing, and self-criticism often began as protection. We get curious about those patterns without shaming them, then build new options.
I frequently use parts work informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you unblend from intense emotions and access steadier self-leadership. I also draw from EMDR-informed approaches when past experiences keep reactivating in the present. ACT helps translate insight into action by clarifying values and building flexibility when your mind feels loud.
If we include medication, we treat it as one tool in a bigger plan. We review history carefully, set specific targets, and track response over time. When helpful, we may also consider integrative supports such as labs, nutrition-focused interventions, or pharmacogenomic testing.

Leaf Psychiatry offers therapy-forward psychiatric care for adults who want depth, steadiness, and a plan that fits real life. Many people I see are high-functioning on paper but feel anxious, disconnected, burned out, or quietly hopeless. Some carry trauma, complicated family histories, or spiritual wounds from faith settings. Others feel exhausted from years of “trying harder” without relief.
My style is relational, structured, and grounded. You can expect careful listening, clear clinical thinking, and practical next steps. I do not approach care as a quick prescription or a series of referrals. We build one integrated plan and adjust it together over time.
When medication makes sense, we use it thoughtfully, with attention to benefits, side effects, and your preferences. When therapy is the main path, we lean into it. Often, we do both. You will not be pushed faster than your nervous system can handle, and you will not be left without a plan.
I’m licensed in AZ, MI, and HI. Care is provided via secure telehealth when clinically appropriate.
