David Rothman
Licensed Professional Counselor - LPC
I’m a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples heal the places where relationships feel stuck, tender, or overwhelming. For more than a decade, I’ve supported people through moments of relational disconnection, attachment wounds, and the challenges that arise from substance use and life transitions. My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), AEDP, and psychodynamic approaches, all of which honor the power of connection, emotional safety, and the inherent capacity we each have to heal.
As a husband and father, I deeply value the meaning of closeness, vulnerability, and the work it sometimes takes to stay connected. These personal experiences shape my belief that relationships—whether with partners, children, or ourselves—are central to our well-being. I strive to bring warmth, steadiness, and genuine care into every session.
In therapy, I help clients slow down, understand the deeper patterns shaping their emotions and behaviors, and create space for new ways of relating. Whether you’re navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, healing attachment injuries, or working through the emotional impact of substance use, I’m here to walk with you—not as an expert who has all the answers, but as a partner in your growth.
My intention is to offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to explore what’s possible. Healing is relational, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Treatment Approach
- Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) Trauma-informed therapy that helps individuals explore deeply held, painful emotional experiences within a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: I’m someone who deeply cares about helping individuals and couples find their way through moments when relationships feel stuck, fragile, or overwhelming. For over a decade, I’ve walked alongside people as they navigate disconnection, old hurts, major life changes, and patterns that no longer serve them.
At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of feeling truly seen and emotionally safe with another person. I focus on creating space for honest connection, understanding what’s happening beneath the surface, and supporting your natural ability to grow and heal. My goal is to help you reconnect—with yourself and with the people who matter most—in ways that feel more steady, open, and alive.
Fees & Insurance
Fees
- Average Session Fee 125
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- I believe that meaningful, high-quality therapy should be accessible—especially during times when life feels the most overwhelming. For individuals and couples who are facing financial strain, unemployment, underemployment, or the rising costs of living, I offer a limited number of sliding-scale slots to help reduce the barrier to care. My goal is to ensure that cost is not the reason someone goes without the support they need. Sliding-scale rates are based on your current financial situation, and we’ll work together to find a fee that feels manageable and respectful of your circumstances. Whether you’re navigating economic hardship, supporting a family on a tight budget, or rebuilding after a major transition, you deserve a safe, steady place to heal and grow. If you’re wondering whether sliding-scale therapy might be a good fit, I welcome you to reach out—there’s no pressure and no judgment. Your well-being matters, and access to care shouldn’t depend on your financial situation.

Welcome—I'm David Rothman, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in helping individuals and couples navigate the emotional terrain of relationships, attachment, and personal healing. My practice is grounded in the belief that change becomes possible when we feel safe, supported, and understood. Whether you’re seeking therapy to repair a relationship, make sense of emotional patterns, or reconnect with yourself, you don’t have to do that work alone.
For more than a decade, I’ve helped clients move through experiences of relational disconnection, attachment wounds, substance-use–related challenges, and major life transitions. I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and psychodynamic approaches—modalities that center compassion, emotional safety, and the natural drive toward healing.
As both a therapist and a parent, I value closeness, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to show up honestly in our relationships. These experiences shape my work and help me create a steady, warm therapeutic space where you can explore what feels tender or stuck without judgment.
In our sessions, we’ll slow down and pay attention to the deeper emotional and relational patterns influencing your day-to-day life. Together, we’ll build new pathways toward connection—whether that means navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, healing longstanding attachment injuries, or understanding the emotional impact of substance use.
My intention is to offer a compassionate space where you feel truly seen and supported. Healing happens in relationship, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and connection—both with others and within yourself.
