Jordan Dye - Prepared Acceptance (He/Him)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, EMT
In-Person in South Ogden, UT 84403
You spend your days showing up for everyone else. It’s okay to have a space where you don't have to be the "strong one."
Whether you are a healthcare provider, an educator, a first responder, or military personnel, your work is more than a job—it’s a service. You’re trained to stay composed in the face of chaos and to put the needs of others above your own. But over time, that selflessness can lead to exhaustion and burnout, where you feel "poured out" and disconnected from yourself and those you care about most.
As an EMT, a National Guard Soldier, and experience working in the Emergency Department and the school system, I have some understanding about the environment you work in. I am here to support you through learning skills and techniques to work with and through your challenges. We’ll work together to address the burnout, the high-functioning anxiety, and the toll that "always being on" takes on your personal life. My goal isn’t to change who you are, but to help you reclaim the energy and perspective you’ve given away to your work.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My clinical approach is grounded in the belief that therapy should be as practical as it is transformative. Rather than sticking to a single, rigid school of thought, I integrate evidence-based strategies—including EMDR, ACT, DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy—to meet the specific demands of your life and career. I don't see these as just academic theories, but as a flexible toolkit designed to help you process high-stress environments and reclaim your mental clarity. We will use whatever technique best fits your goals and mindset.
In our work together, we focus on both the "why" and the "how." We utilize trauma-informed techniques like EMDR to help de-escalate the intensity of past experiences, while drawing on the cognitive and behavioral tools of CBT and DBT to manage the day-to-day pressures of "always being on." By incorporating the values-based framework of ACT and the efficiency of Solution-Focused Therapy, we move at a pace that respects your time and prioritizes your goals.
The result is a collaborative, streamlined process that helps you build psychological flexibility. We work to bridge the gap between the person you are in your professional uniform—whether that’s scrubs, a classroom, or tactical gear—and the person you want to be when you’re off the clock.

Jordan Dye - Prepared Acceptance Practice Description
A Realistic Approach to Resilience. In the fields of medicine, education, and service, there is often an unwritten rule: Keep moving, keep helping, and don't let the cracks show. While that mindset helps you survive a shift or a deployment, it doesn’t help you thrive at home. I created this practice to be a landing gear for the people who are tired of pretending they have it all under control.
Bridging the Gap Between Your Work and Your Life. Because I have navigated the environments of the Emergency Department, the school system, and the military, I know that your challenges aren't just "in your head." They are often a normal reaction to an abnormal amount of pressure. In our sessions, you don’t have to translate your world for me. I understand much of the jargon, the pace, and the specific moral weight of your work.
What We’ll Focus On:
Decompressing the "Always On" Internal Switch: Learning how to shift out of crisis mode so you can actually be present with your family and yourself.
Burnout & Compassion Fatigue: Moving beyond standard self-care to address the systemic exhaustion that comes with being a professional helper.
High-Functioning Anxiety: Managing the drive that makes you good at your job but keeps you restless and scanning for problems at home.
Skill-Based Support: Using practical techniques to manage the physiological and emotional toll of your career.
Therapy Without the Performance. You spend enough time being "on" for the world. Here, the goal is to be authentic. My style is active and direct; I’m not here to just listen, but to provide you with the tools and insights necessary to reclaim your life outside of your uniform and workspace. We will work together to ensure that you can continue to do the work you love without losing the person you are in the process.
