- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.

I provide individual and group, trauma-informed counseling for adults with anxiety and depression. The causes of anxiety and depression have varied origins from trauma, chronic pain or illness, life stressors and much more. Together we can work together to understand how the circumstances of life and your natural responses may be helping and hurting. I can help you learn new skills to disconnect from anxious thoughts when they seem to have taken on a life of their own, increase distress tolerance and live in the present moment. Together we will identify goals for the life you want and commit to the path to take you there.
I have been a professional counselor since 2002, working in community mental health, inpatient, managed care and private practice. I opened Mindfulness Counseling LLC in 2022 to build grounding relationships with each of my clients and help them find the skills they need to live with ease in the world. Counseling can help us reduce suffering, increase compassion and acceptance and nurture what matters to us most.
I also offer clinical supervision to counseling associates working toward licensure and LPCs.
