Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Art Therapy Uses creative activities like drawing, painting, or sculpture as a way to express emotions. It is especially helpful when words are hard to find.
  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Freestyle Supervision and EMDR Group LLC Practice Description
EMDR & Trauma Recovery Every clinician on our team is EMDR-trained, ensuring that your care is grounded in the gold standard of trauma treatment. We don’t just talk about the past; we help you process complex trauma and break painful cycles. By addressing how trauma is stored in the body and mind, we help you find lasting relief and the freedom to move forward. Neuroaffirming Care (Autism & ADHD) We view neurodivergence through a strengths-based, anti-ableist lens. Whether you are navigating a new diagnosis or seeking a space where you don't have to "mask," our therapists provide a neuro-inclusive environment. We focus on managing executive dysfunction, sensory regulation, and emotional processing while honoring your unique way of experiencing the world. Neurodivergent-Friendly Assessments Standard diagnostic processes can often feel cold or deficit-focused. We offer affirming Autism and ADHD assessments designed to be supportive and clarifying rather than pathologizing. Our goal is to provide you with a roadmap for self-understanding and the resources needed to thrive in a world not always built for neurodivergent minds. LGBTQIA+ & Culturally Affirming Therapy Inclusivity is an active practice here, not just a tagline. We provide a fiercely celebratory space for the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals from all cultural backgrounds. Our clinicians engage in ongoing monthly training to ensure our advocacy is current, culturally humble, and deeply integrated into every session. Eclectic & Somatic Approaches Healing isn't one-size-fits-all. We take a "freestyle" approach by blending various models—including Somatics, neuro-affirming CBT, Breathwork, and Expressive Arts. By integrating the body and the creative self into the therapeutic process, we tailor our care to meet your specific needs and help you connect with your most authentic self. Clinical Supervision & Mentorship We are passionate about pouring back into the field of mental health. Our mentorship-based supervision provides associate therapists with a balanced, laid-back environment to grow into highly skilled, crisis-confident professionals. We focus on building the next generation of trauma-rooted, inclusive healers through expert guidance and EMDR consultation.
