Sometimes we can know something is missing without knowing exactly what it is. We may understand our circumstances yet still struggle to understand ourselves – what we feel, what we need, or why certain relationships leave us feeling stuck. I focus on what can sit beneath these experiences: the ways early relationships, family roles and our needs for connection can shape how we relate to ourselves and others. This can show up in how we communicate, respond to conflict, seek closeness or protect ourselves when connection feels difficult. Together, we can approach these experiences with curiosity, recognising that every part of us developed for a reason; whether to help us adapt, protect ourselves and navigate what we have experienced, even when those ways of coping no longer serve us.

Treatment Approach

  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is curious, integrative and culturally-attuned. Rather than prescribing a particular method, I collaborate with you to find what feels appropriate, useful and safe. I trust that you are the expert in your own experience. Your needs, preferences and readiness guide how we proceed. Ongoing conversation, consent and feedback shape the work, allowing us to adapt the approach together as we go.
