I specialize in working with people who suffer with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. In addition, my background as an internal medicine physician allows me to understand the unique struggles of those in the medical field, as well as those living with chronic illnesses. Using a depth therapy approach, I strive to create a safe space where you can talk about your difficulties, worries and disappointments, and where long-buried feelings and memories from the past that created pain, confusion and anxiety can be supported in the present, thereby easing some of their hold on how you experience life. Our goal will be to help you grow in self-awareness, have greater capacity for intimate relationships, as well as have improvement in the symptoms that have brought you to therapy.

Treatment Approach

  • Bioenergetic Analysis Combines talk therapy with physical exercises to release stored tension in the body. It aims to connect emotional struggles with physical experiences.
  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Marina Rozenberg, MD Practice Description
I’m a practicing internal medicine physician, and, in going through my own healing journey, I decided, back in 2013, that I wanted to use what was most helpful in my own experience to help those dealing with emotional struggles. To that end, I trained in the tools that have been most useful to me in understanding my difficulties and allowing me greater freedom to pursue a more meaningful and genuine life. I have trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and Bioenergetic Analysis, both powerful avenues to contact the experiences and parts of ourselves that had to be buried or remain unrecognized. In psychodynamic psychotherapy we pay attention to the running thoughts in our mind, the relationship patterns in our life, dream content, and thoughts and feelings that arise within the psychotherapeutic relationship to bring to life buried thoughts, feelings and fears that we developed early on in our lives and shape who we are today. Bioenergetic Analysis uses work with the body (via movement and breathing) to bring to the surface emotions and experiences that we disconnected from by disconnecting from our breathing and our sensory experience. If either of these approaches feel right for you, it would be a privilege to help guide you in this important endeavor.
