Treatment Approach
- Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
- Social Constructionist Therapy Looks at how social and cultural context shapes identity and problems. It helps clients create new narratives of meaning.
Approach Description: I offer a warm approach that mixes compassion and a sense of humor. I strive to make therapy a comfortable and safe place where you can explore free of judgement and worry. I can work with you on specific issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, grief and past trauma or I can be a place to process your daily life. I have particular passion and expertise in working with and supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community. My main theoretical orientation is client-centered, which means that above all else the most important aspect of counseling is the relationship between the client and the therapist. I have unconditional positive regard for all of my clients.
