Session Format: Individual sessions.
Age Specialty: Adult, Children, Teen

Treatment Approach

  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: Much of my clinical work is rooted in various theories and modalities, including: somatic and sensorimotor psychotherapy approaches (working through identifying what we are experiencing in our body and why), dialectical behaviour therapy (navigating emotion regulation), cognitive behaviour therapy (talk therapy that focuses on understanding and challenging our subconscious/conscious thoughts), attachment theory (understanding that our adult self is based on our childhood experiences), and polyvagal theory (learning the neurology within our body, identifying what we are experiencing and how to shift states within our own nervous system; i.e. Fight or flight, rest and relax etc.).

Grace Driedger Practice Description
Oftentimes our sessions together will allow the opportunity to reflect upon our relationships; both past and present in order to allow ourselves an understanding of how these relationships impact us. The focus is solely on you. We want to make things easier. Together we will start to build your internal and external resources and identifying when and how to call upon them. The solutions that help with the problems today can also be the solutions for future problems. Together we will explore what is helpful for you when something impacts you. Sometimes our voice isn’t being heard, and sometimes we may not even be aware that it isn’t. I am passionate about providing you with a space to focus on you. To hear your voice. I am here to give you a space to slowly and gently put the pieces together. You deserve to have your needs met. Please reach out through phone or email to set up a consultation. My personal practice will often include utilizing movement and nature as a form of therapy and healing. As such; my offerings within my clinical therapeutic practice can include: individual psychotherapy, walk and talk psychotherapy sessions, individual yoga sessions, group yoga sessions, and a combination of yoga, nervous system regulation and psychotherapy. I have provided individual, couples, and group counselling to teenagers and adults who are experiencing or have experienced: addiction, sexual assault, intergenerational trauma, prenatal/postnatal support, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. I believe that no concern is too big or too small for an individual to access supports and resources.
