I’m Ken Lee, a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist offering specialist support to children, teenagers, young adults, and families in Ayrshire, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for young people aged 0–25 to explore emotional and relational challenges. Whether you're a parent worried about your child’s anxiety or low mood, a teenager struggling with identity or friendships, or a young adult feeling lost or overwhelmed—therapy can help.
With over 18 years of experience in both NHS and private settings, I offer once-weekly and intensive psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I also work closely with parents and caregivers, supporting family relationships and emotional understanding.

Treatment Approach
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: My approach is informed by psychodynamic theory, attachment research and developmental neuroscience. I believe that effective psychotherapy has the therapeutic relationship at its core and it can take time for young people to feel comfortable enough to explore their experiences.

My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which means I pay close attention to the emotional meaning behind behaviour, relationships, and inner experience. I work reflectively and relationally, offering a space where thoughts and feelings — even the confusing or unspoken ones — can begin to make sense.
Before training in psychotherapy, I qualified and worked as a Mental Health Nurse. This gave me a strong foundation in understanding mental health across the lifespan, and deepened my interest in how early experience shapes the way we relate to ourselves and others. I later undertook rigorous postgraduate training in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), of which I’m a full member.
