Something in you already knows it's time. Maybe you've been living with anxiety that feels woven into who you are. Maybe trauma has shaped how you move through the world — your relationships, your body, your sense of self — and you're ready to start unravelling that. Or perhaps you're exhausted from trying to hold everything together alone. I'm Tony, a PACFA-registered psychotherapist working with individuals, couples, and teens in person in Castlemaine, Victoria, and online across Australia and internationally. I specialise in trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My work is body-based and relational. Using Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Polyvagal Theory, I help you understand what your nervous system is trying to tell you — and create the conditions for real, lasting change. This isn't about insight alone. It's about helping you actually feel different in your body, your relationships, and your life. Free 15-minute intro call available. Weekdays and evenings.

Treatment Approach

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
  • Dance / Movement Therapy Uses movement and body awareness to express emotions and improve mental health. It can increase confidence, reduce stress, and support healing.
  • Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Imago Relationship Therapy Helps couples understand how childhood experiences influence adult relationships. It teaches communication techniques to deepen connection.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
  • Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach is integrative and body-based, drawing primarily on: Somatic Therapy: We work with what's held in your body — tension, activation, and the physical signatures of old wounds — to help your nervous system find safety and regulation. Internal Family Systems (IFS): We work with the different 'parts' of you — the protectors, the inner critic, the wounded younger self — with curiosity and compassion, rather than trying to suppress or override them. Polyvagal Theory: Understanding how your autonomic nervous system responds to perceived threat helps us work with — not against — your body's survival patterns. Attachment-Based and Trauma-Focused: We explore the relational roots of your difficulties and how early experiences shape present-day patterns in relationships and in yourself. Sessions are collaborative. I explain what I'm doing and why. You set the pace — always.
