Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: Thank you for visiting! My approach involves meeting clients where they are and developing a plan based on individual needs. I have training and experience with Animal Assisted and Equine Assisted Therapy. I am a firm believer that animals and nature are healers. I work with clients on issues such as anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and depression, among others. My intake process is informal. I can obtain most of the information I need through casual conversation. I believe clients have the innate ability to heal and resolve their own issues with the help of an outside source who can listen, suggest, and support. When clients start to feel better and move toward their goals, we reevaluate frequency of sessions. I work well with clients who appreciate a warm, caring approach with a touch of humor. Clients have told me that I am their cheerleader. I look forward to our journey together.

I tailor my techniques and theoretical orientation to each individual client. Everyone is different even if they are presenting with similar stressors. What works for one, may not work for another. My goal for you is an overall sense of well being and care for yourself. Clients are able to overcome challenges in a non-threatening atmosphere. I work with clients to explore how the past affects the present and what they want the future to look like. Then we can explore moving toward those goals while living in line with our values.
