No matter how difficult a situation we face, it helps to find our internal and external strengths to overcome it. This means that we bring our whole selves to therapy and not just an injured, problem-centered part of ourselves. Emphasizing abilities is not a way of dismissing difficulty or underestimating the challenges of relationships, traumas, and even our unique ways of processing information. It is a way to build hope while also facing our greatest obstacles.

Alan Archibald Practice Description
See 1 Change is the name of my therapy practice. I have worked with children and youth with the most complex and intractable behavioral and mental health problems. I have also worked with young adults and other adults on past traumas that still impact them as well as those with neurologically based challenges like ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and Intellectual Disability. The ability to discover a way to make just 1 change, opens up the possibility of progressing to make the other changes that are also needed. Sometimes that first change is reaching out for help and the rest flows from there. Many times it is more complicated. I have dedicated most of my practice to helping individuals and families make progress in the most situations.
