Beatrice Ochieng Practice Description
My practice is located in Frederick, Maryland. I specialize in anxiety disorders but is also experienced in treating depression and other issues such as Trauma/PTSD and Grief/Loss among others. Treatment is primarily offered from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective. CBT emphasizes the correlation between thoughts, emotions, and behavior and teaches how to change unwanted emotions and behaviors by changing one’s thoughts. In addition to CBT, I use MBCT to teach being in the present moment with thoughts without reacting to automatic thoughts and being anxious. In addition, I teach other stress management techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. I incorporate Christian counseling in the sessions for those who request such.
