Hello, I have been working as a psychotherapist in private practice for 18 years. In my work, my goal is to provide a vital space where you can regain an authentic connection with yourself and learn to move toward a natural state of psychological balance and wholeness . By paying attention in a holistic way to your thoughts, feelings, physical symptoms, and dreams, I strive to bring both your mind and body into a place of integration and harmony. I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, chronic pain, substance abuse, creativity, relationship issues, job stress, grief and loss, and offer both long and short-term therapy. I strive to practice with depth, imagination, and integrity and use many different treatment modalities to get to the core of what is causing suffering or stuckness and help facilitate renewal and positive forward movement. My main clinical approach is the Jungian model which seeks to support the unfolding of the individual by working very relationally and in depth with symbolic material, the unconscious, and values the person’s own inner resources.

Carine France Practice Description
Each of us has a unique life to live and a unique self trying to unfold. When this natural unfolding is blocked, symptoms such as anxiety, depression, confusion, fears, physical discomfort or illness, can surface to signal that our psyche has become unbalanced or ill-adapted to reality. My approach to the process of psychotherapy is very interactive and relational, and is based on an integration of Jungian, psychodynamic, and mind-body integration psychology. The collaborative relationship between the therapist and the client stands in my view at the center of the work and is the most important factor to a positive therapeutic outcome. In our work, the focus of our sessions may derive from a number of sources : the exploration of daily life, current relationship issues, memories, family history, dreams and fantasies, physical symptoms, and any other spontaneous forms of expression. Understanding how the echoes of the past resonate and shape our lives give us new choices and opportunities. Indeed, it helps reveal where we might have lost touch with the foundations of our nature and where we need help reclaiming parts of ourselves that have been silenced. In the end, this process of self discovery helps us live a richer and more meaningful life, one that is based on self knowledge, compassion, conscious choices, inner strength and play. A life where we can fully grow and “become who we are”. Therapy sessions are usually once a week, though more often if desired. They are typically conducted face-to-face with the therapist.
