Treatment Approach

  • Brainspotting A therapy that uses eye positions to access and process unresolved trauma. It helps release emotional and physical pain held in the body.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.

Carolyn Duhn Practice Description
I’m a licensed psychotherapist in Colorado with 15 years of experience helping people navigate the complex terrain of their inner world. My work is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and shaped by attachment theory and polyvagal theory, giving me a deep, integrative lens for understanding what’s happening beneath the surface. I specialize in working with 20-somethings who are exploring identity, navigating relationships and boundaries, working through anxiety or trauma, or simply figuring out what they want from life. These years can be full of transition, and therapy can offer a grounded space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your sense of self. For trauma healing, I offer a flexible and personalized approach — integrating tools like Flash Technique, EMDR, and Brainspotting. If something doesn’t click, we pivot. I believe therapy should meet you where you’re at, and we’ll find what works best together. My style is warm, relaxed, and curious — client-centered and collaborative. I offer online therapy only, which gives clients the flexibility to connect from wherever they are in Colorado.
