My approach to therapy is interactive and supportive, with an overall goal of increasing self-awareness and coping skills to help promote the kind of changes that you would like to see. I believe that the quality of the therapist/client relationship is paramount to effective therapy. Because of this, I highly encourage you to choose a therapist that feels like a "good fit" for you. I always start with an initial consultation appointment where I can learn more about your background and reasons for seeking therapy, answer any questions you may have, and then plan together from there. Starting therapy can feel daunting or overwhelming for many people, so it is important that we work at a pace that feels comfortable to you.

Treatment Approach
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.

Much of my therapist training emphasized that past experiences, particularly within the family, can strongly shape how people live their lives today. As such, we may explore relevant areas from your past in order to gain insight into patterns that have influenced you and the issues with which you feel you are struggling. However, it is important that we keep our eye on current concerns, and more directive interventions may be integrated into our work as well. Some clients feel that they have achieved their therapy goals within several sessions, while other clients prefer to continue with therapy for a lengthier period of time in order to more fully address their issues.
