My work as a therapist begins with creating a space that feels genuinely safe, private, and respectful — a place where you don’t have to censor yourself or worry about being judged. I place a strong emphasis on building a trusting, collaborative relationship, because feeling understood and accepted is often a powerful catalyst for meaningful change in itself.
I aim to meet clients exactly where they are, taking time to understand their unique experiences while supporting them in moving toward the changes they want to make in their lives. My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on how shifts in thoughts, perceptions, and behaviors can lead to meaningful changes in emotional well-being.
In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. My professional background and personal interests have shaped my focus on working with anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, relationship challenges, career and life transitions, existential questions, and a general sense of feeling stuck or dissatisfied.
I am LGBTQ+ affirming and offer secular therapy, welcoming clients who prefer an approach grounded in psychology rather than religious or spiritual frameworks. I provide HIPAA-compliant video therapy and am often able to help clients get started without a long wait. Choosing a therapist is an important decision, so I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you determine whether working together feels like a good fit.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: I am very much a person-centered therapist at heart, which effectively means that I believe that YOU are the expert in your own life and that given the right environment and support you will be able to get in touch with yourself so that you can heal, change, and grow in the ways that you want to. I frequently supplement that with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and concepts, and if we end up focusing on family-of-origin type things or complex PTSD symptoms, I will utilize psychodynamic concepts to frame what might be going on. I am not afraid of walking with clients who are struggling with deep existential concerns and so I sometimes utilize concepts from with existential and humanistic therapy.

My therapy practice is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. At heart, I am a person-centered therapist, which means I place great importance on creating the kind of environment where you feel supported enough to listen to yourself more clearly. With the right conditions — safety, respect, curiosity, and acceptance — people often begin to reconnect with parts of themselves that know how to heal, change, and grow.
While the therapeutic relationship is central to my work, I also draw from a range of approaches depending on your needs and goals. I frequently incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients understand patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to distress. When family-of-origin issues, long-standing relational patterns, or symptoms related to complex trauma are present, I may use psychodynamic concepts to help make sense of how the past continues to show up in the present. I am also comfortable working with clients who find themselves grappling with existential concerns such as meaning, identity, freedom, responsibility, or a sense of disconnection, and I often integrate humanistic and existential ideas when appropriate.
A significant part of my work involves helping people understand how early experiences shaped their ways of relating to themselves and others. Strategies that once helped us survive difficult family dynamics can later become sources of anxiety, depression, addiction, fear, or dissatisfaction. Together, we may explore these patterns not to assign blame, but to create space for insight, grieving, self-compassion, and ultimately greater freedom from ways of being that no longer serve you.
My style as a therapist is warm, empathetic, and generally non-directive. I tend to do my best work with clients who are motivated to engage in honest self-reflection and who are interested in working on themselves both inside and outside of sessions. I am not a good fit for situations where someone is being pushed into therapy by others; therapy works best when it is something you are choosing for yourself.
On a more personal note, I grew up largely in Austin, Texas, and have called Georgia home for many years. Before becoming a therapist, I earned a degree in finance, an experience that deepened my appreciation for career transitions and questions of meaning and direction. Outside of therapy, I am an avid musician (primarily saxophone), love spending time outdoors, care deeply about animals, and value experiences that foster curiosity and self-understanding — including travel. I believe these parts of my life inform my work by keeping me grounded, human, and engaged.
I have been licensed and actively practicing in Georgia for over a decade and offer HIPAA-compliant video therapy. If any part of this description resonates with you, I welcome you to reach out and explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
