Treatment Approach
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
Approach Description: My approach is collaborative; our work together is a partnership. I bring expertise in mental health and you bring knowledge of yourself and put forth the effort needed to meet your goals for positive life changes. Together, we work toward improved health and wellness.

I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 20 years experience in mental health, specializing in assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, mood instability, life transitions, and interpersonal difficulties. Many people seek my services to ascertain the need for psychiatric medications. Medications are powerful tools for treating persistent symptoms and furthering treatment goals, particularly when used in conjunction with the right type of therapy and healthy life style choices. Medication, if appropriate, is prescribed after careful consideration, with your consent. I provide services for both psychotherapy and medication management, and work collaboratively with other therapists to provide pharmacological treatment for their established clients.
