I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, carefully tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. My approach is grounded in evidence-based treatment while also recognizing the value of longer-term therapy to deepen self-awareness, clarify personal values, and support meaningful growth. I work with clients to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns of behavior and to create meaningful changes in their lives.

Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
Approach Description: I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches, tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals. I am certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD. I am also trained in CBT for anxiety and depression and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Treatment may focus on identifying and changing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns, developing effective coping and emotional regulation skills, processing traumatic experiences, and making meaningful changes in areas of life that matter to the client.
