I have spent decades devoted to specializing in the treatment of anxiety. Worried? I am an expert at treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; the worry disorder). I'm also great at treating panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, phobias, work stress, performance anxiety, depression and social anxiety. But you can talk to me about anything. For a sample of what I do, check me out on YouTube.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Schema Therapy Identifies deep-rooted negative patterns formed in childhood. It combines CBT, attachment theory, and experiential methods for change.
Approach Description: Before we meet I will have you complete a 3 page questionnaire addressing everything you want me to know as well as a great deal of information that is important that you may not have considered. That gives you a great head start with therapy. I specialize in treating anxiety and provide many tricks and tools to help you feel more calm and ease your anxiety. Many therapists focus on childhood. For some clients I will address early learning through Schema Therapy; this depends upon whether you think parenting or other experiences are currently affecting your mental health. Regardless, we will explore techniques to help free you from troubling thoughts and help you feel more relaxed.

Fees
- Average Session Fee 175
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- I offer discounts for teachers, healthcare professionals, military, and over 60 and retired or partially retired; that fee is $160. My regular fee is $190. HSA debit cards are accepted. I don't discount the first session because I spend a great deal of time preparing for our first meeting and the $220 fee shows that you are committed to making positive changes in your life. While there are never any guarantees, my techniques are often so effective that some people only see me a few times before moving to alternate weeks or less, and sometimes wrapping up treatment altogether. Depending upon your financial situation, if you want regular and extended therapy I will consider a significant discount after the 5th visit.
- Out of Network
- I do not accept insurance. HSA debit cards are accepted and some insurance plans have out-of-network benefits that will apply. My portal makes it very easy to download super bills to submit to your insurance.

Dr. Jen is passionate about helping people manage anxiety. Whether it’s as a therapist, a professional speaker or through her three books and two decks of therapy cards, she has dozens of effective tools to help you lead a calmer more fulfilling life.
We all experience anxiety. A healthy amount of anxiety guides and protects us. Unfortunately, today anxiety is often a false alarm that can lead to panic attacks, insomnia, depression, headaches, fatigue, irritability, and many other problems that makes it impossible to lead our best lives.
Dr. Jen is a clinical psychologist who does tele-therapy in over 40 states. Specializing in the treatment of anxiety, she is an expert at treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD; the worry disorder). However, Dr Jen successfully treats panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, phobias, work stress, performance anxiety, depression and social anxiety. Worry is her focus because excessive worry often leads to depression, insomnia, and more severe anxiety like panic and OCD. In fact, when we treating worry depression improves dramatically. Her approach is based in cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT), while integrating mindfulness, schema therapy, experiential therapies, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). Above all, Dr. Jen’s approach is pragmatic and friendly.
