Now Accepting Clients! For a lot of athletes, the hardest part of sport isn’t always the training...it’s everything happening in your head. The pressure to perform, overthinking mistakes, navigating team dynamics, injuries, or experiences that left a mark can make something you love start to feel really heavy. Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is relational, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when you feel genuinely understood and safe to be yourself. Therapy with me isn’t about sitting quietly while someone analyzes you. It’s a real conversation between two people working together to make sense of what you’re going through.
I aim to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, whether that means talking about something serious, venting about a frustrating situation, or even finding a bit of humour in the chaos of life. While therapy can involve hard conversations, it doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time.
Because of my background in high-level sport, I’m especially attuned to the pressures athletes often carry. This includes the visible ones and the ones people rarely see. At the same time, our work together can go far beyond sport. We might explore anxiety, past experiences that still impact you, relationships, identity, confidence, or life transitions.
My role isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as we build insight, develop tools to manage what you’re facing, and help you feel more grounded in who you are.

I specialize in working with athletes (16+) navigating anxiety, performance pressure, burnout, and trauma. As a former Division I hockey player, I understand how intense the mental side of sport can be and how much pressure athletes often carry behind the scenes.
At the same time, therapy doesn’t have to stay on the field, rink, or court. Athletes are people first. That means we can talk about relationships, school, identity, confidence, life transitions, or anything else that’s weighing on you. Whatever is showing up in your life is welcome here!
My approach is relational, collaborative, and very human. We talk like real people. There’s space for honesty, reflection, and sometimes even a bit of humour along the way. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and a little less alone while working through whatever you’re carrying.
