Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. If you are reading this, you are considering making a change in your life by looking for a therapist. Change can be scary. I want to celebrate your strength that brought you to this powerful, and perhaps daunting, first step on your path to self-discovery and growth. Whatever pain and suffering you have endured; you no longer have to face alone. I want to honor and respect your courage by committing to co-creating and nurturing a non-judgemental space where you feel physically and psychologically safe, seen, and valued. When we have built a trusting relationship, we can begin to explore the patterns of emotions, thoughts, and behaviours that are negatively impacting your life. In my collaborative approach to therapy, you are the expert on your life; my role, through my knowledge of therapeutic processes and interventions, is to support, encourage, and travel alongside you on your journey.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Developmental Therapy Looks at how childhood and developmental experiences affect current challenges. It aims to repair unmet needs and foster healthy growth.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: I believe in an integrative approach to therapy, which allows me to tailor my therapeutic style to best fit you and your goals. My integrative approach is guided by humanistic, attachment-based, experiential, and trauma-informed perspectives. I can draw from multiple therapies including emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative and somatic models. Building on my initial career as a neuroscientist, I recognize that all aspects of mental health start with the brain, whose intrinsic plasticity supports an almost limitless potential for positive, adaptive change. I believe that therapeutic processes are enhanced when delivered in a way that incorporate and are firmly grounded in our biology. From these perspectives, I encourage reconnection with ourselves and others through the promotion of healthy, secure attachments, resiliency, flexibility, and a positive, authentic self-image. This is your journey, and ultimately you will decide, with my support and encouragement, on the course that best supports your needs at this time.

I am currently finishing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I will begin my counselling practice at the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships (St. Catharines) in January 2025 under the supervision of Whitney Reinhart M.A., R.P.
I provide counselling to adults of all ages and enjoy working with all forms of diversity, including, but not limited to minority, 2SLGBTQI+ and neurodiverse communities and people in non-traditional relationships. I work with clients who are navigating experiences of recent and historical trauma, anxiety, depression, pain, grief, anger, and relationship and/or interpersonal challenges. In the first session, with respectful curiosity I will invite you to describe what has brought you to seek help and what changes you’d like to make at this time. Together we will explore past experiences and relationships to understand how you arrived to your present, and to help clarify goals and solutions to work toward the future you envision. Additionally, we may draw from appropriate, objective, scientific-based assessments to help further conceptualize and monitor your unique lived experience.
