I love helping people let go of the codependent/people-pleasing strategies that often arise in response to a difficult family member. Seeing my clients find more confidence and inner strength is why I do this work.

Treatment Approach
- Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) Trauma-informed therapy that helps individuals explore deeply held, painful emotional experiences within a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Approach Description: Having been in practice for over 2 decades, I have lots of training and experience, so I can tailor the work to your needs and your learning style. My approach includes an educational component, so you always understand the processes we use. I listen deeply to the ways you’ve learned to cope that no longer work for you. Then, together, we explore alternatives to try, so you can discover new ways of relating to others - including those who are difficult. More than that, I will support you in listening inward, letting your emotions guide you to discover your own needs and limits, prioritizing your wellbeing, maybe for the first time. And, as you begin giving yourself the care and compassion you’ve been giving away to others, we will look at ways to release any guilt or fear that arises and celebrate your self-care.
