I help people create more balance in their lives by learning when to pause, be present, and step out of the constant pressure of “what’s next.” Many individuals find themselves shaped by old patterns or past experiences that make it hard to move forward. My approach focuses on helping you ride the waves of life with greater resilience—navigating the unpredictable storms rather than feeling anchored in them. While we can’t prepare for every unexpected moment, we can build the tools and skills to manage whatever comes our way. Tides shift, storms pass, and calmer waters are possible. I don’t believe in a one‑size‑fits‑all approach. I tailor treatment to your preferences, goals, schedule, and life circumstances. I also offer structured, evidence‑based therapies when a more guided path is helpful. With over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with a wide range of concerns, I bring both flexibility and clinical depth to the work we do together. For more information, please visit my website. You’ll find a secure, private patient portal with built‑in video sessions, scheduling, communication, and payment options—all in one encrypted, easy‑to‑use platform, including a mobile app for added convenience.

Treatment Approach

  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Psychosocial Therapy Looks at how social and environmental factors affect psychological health. It emphasizes relationships, community, and resilience.
Approach Description: I love taking on new challenges and adventures. My approach focuses on each patient as an individual. I do not expect everyone to fit in a one size fits all box. I have a flexible approach that I individualize based on patient preference, goals, time availability, and life needs. While at the same time I am trained in many evidence-based treatment protocols that can provide a lot of structure and direction. I help individuals explore means of being more intentional with how they approach each day, life, and even the smallest decisions. I strive to help people achieve a more desirable life balance and improved quality of life by their own definition of what that means to them. My experience with technology and mental health started with my position as a clinical research psychologist at the National Center for Telehealth and Technology. At this position I had the wonderful and unique opportunity to explore the use of technology in therapy before it became the expectation or norm. I assisted with the development of therapy apps, virtual reality therapy enhancers, and explored the world of avatars as therapists. My experience working on an active Military Infantry base at Fort Lewis, WA was a remarkable, rare experience, which allowed me the privilege of gaining knowledge that I would never have gained in any graduate program. From there I started working at the St Cloud VA Medical Hospital. I worked exclusively with Veterans and their families with Chronic pain and PTSD. I worked there for 13 years. Prior to specializing I worked with all ages, diagnoses, and loved the broad experiences I gained and how I was able to contribute. I have offered family therapy groups and in home family therapy as well. I have also provided biofeedback and hypnosis therapy when appropriate. I would not changed any of my prior clinical experiences as they have made me the well-rounded therapist I am today. If you have any questions about whether I am the right therapist for you, then you have found at minimum, the right person to start with. I am very open about exploring people’s concerns, doubts, questions, and what directions they want to go, and I do so very openly right from the beginning. I would be happy to explore what therapy journey you are looking for, even if you decide it is not meant to be with me. I have many resources to share to point you in the right direction to a more fitting therapist, if needed. I highly honor and respect the importance of finding the right therapist for you. If you are looking for a therapist that is willing to be real, personable, informed and focused on what really matters to you, then I encourage you to reach out to me. I would be happy to meet with you for an intake appointment so we can determine, together, what would be best for you. Bottom line is that it can be an intimidating process picking and starting with a new therapist. Reaching out for an intake with me is a safe step that does not commit you to continuing with me, rather it would be a first step to making change regardless of whom you pick to work with. Each step counts and I can assist you with starting your journey to improved wellness.

Kimberlee Zetocha Halverson Practice Description
I provide therapy exclusively through secure video sessions. This choice reflects my own commitment to living a balanced life—the same balance I encourage my patients to pursue. By removing the daily commute, I’ve reclaimed valuable time, and I want my patients to experience that same freedom. Many people juggle work, home, and family responsibilities, and adding travel time to appointments can become an unnecessary burden. Teletherapy allows you to access care without sacrificing hours in the car or rearranging your entire day. I am highly experienced in using technology in therapy and appreciate the convenience and flexibility it offers, while also maintaining healthy boundaries around screen time. I model what I encourage in my patients, including setting limits and unplugging when needed. To support you, I provide clear instructions and resources for using my video platform, along with a phone‑based app for easy access to sessions and communication. If you ever have questions or concerns about the technology, I’m here to help you feel comfortable and confident using our online tools. I currently work with private‑pay patients only. This may evolve over time, but for now, this approach allows me to provide highly individualized, attentive care without the constraints and administrative demands of insurance systems. I’ve seen firsthand how red tape can drain time and energy—time that I would rather dedicate to my patients. I also find that individuals who invest financially in their therapy tend to be deeply invested in their own growth, which strengthens the collaborative work we do together. Payment is collected at the start of each session through a secure online system.
