I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst in private practice for the past 20 years. I obtained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from Loyola University, Maryland and completed my internship training at John's Hopkins University Counseling Center. My style is collaborative, supportive and highly personalized to each individual. My training has been in a psychodynamic/ psychoanalytic and generalist model which means an emphasis on understanding you as a person and our looking at the process of understanding your unique mind together and the ways you are currently suffering. The ultimate goal is always growth, alleviation of suffering and a greater sense of emotional and psychological freedom.

Approach Description: My approach is grounded in a solid understanding of and respect for building a strong therapeutic partnership and knowledge of the processes and factors that can facilitate change over time, which comes from graduate training, years of excellent supervision, additional analytic training and continued growth, my own treatment and ongoing teaching, learning and collaboration with my colleagues. Because I am trained as an analyst, I am used to thinking on multiple levels about the complex issues with which clients present. That does not mean though that my style is cool and detached or stereotypically "freudian." On the contrary good therapy sessions often resemble really good conversations and that is my style. Approachable, down to earth and a match to your style. I typically see people struggling with concerns around their work, their self esteem, repeated unwanted patterns, issues around anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, self-esteem, self defeating behaviors or grief for example. I work best with people that are curious about growth and development and I have worked most often with high achieving clients in law, medicine, tech and the mental health field.
