Hello! I am a certified somatic sex educator and sexologist who works with folx of all genders in my office in San Francisco, CA or from anywhere in the world online. I warmly welcome folx who identify as LGBTQIA+, disabled, chronically ill, poly, kinky, and neurodivergent.
Sexuality is a complex identity including relational, physiological, and emotional elements, but it is rooted in the lived experience of the body. I am particularly passionate about providing support when our bodies change. Perhaps things “just don’t work the same way” after surgery, injury, medical treatment, or the onset of chronic illness. Or perhaps sexual response and pleasure sensations are reduced after childbirth or gender confirmation surgery. Somatic sex education creates a safe container in which these concerns can be safely explored, understood, and transformed, allowing clients to emerge more embodied--and sexier than ever--on the other side of life's transitions.
Maybe nothing has changed, per say...you just know there has to be more to your sexuality. You desire to connect deeply with your own desire, to REALLY know what you want, and to be able to express that to your partner(s). Together we can increase your capacity to experience and savor pleasure and develop the confidence and communication skills you need to bring your new-found pleasures into your intimate relationships. One of my favorite tools to build awareness, confidence and sexual communication skills is the Wheel of Consent, which I’ve studied with founder, Dr. Betty Martin, since 2016.
Recognizing the impact of trauma on so many of my client's lives and concerns, I wanted my work to be more than "trauma-informed" and, in 2017, undertook a year of study to become a certified Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) provider. In addition to integrating these skills into my somatic sex education sessions, I teach TRE® as a modality in and of itself to individuals and small groups, both in person or online. TRE® is based on the fundamental idea, backed by research, that stress, tension and trauma are both psychological AND physical and works by safely activating the body’s natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating to not only reduce muscular tension, but to also bring the nervous system back into a state of balance, ease, and resilience. This simple technique is designed to be a self-help tool that, once learned, can be used independently as needed throughout one’s life, thereby continuously supporting and promoting personal health and wellness.
My work is influenced and informed by somatic coaching, mindfulness based body-awareness, and bioenergetics. Transformation takes work, but together we remember that your sexual yearnings and needs are rooted in and reaching for JOY. With “reverent irreverence” and a profound sense of play, I am honored to support your journey to manifest your fullest vision of your erotic self.
