I work with clients from diverse backgrounds and identities experiencing anxiety, life transitions, and stress. I use an integrated and personalized approach to best suit your needs. I do not believe a "one style fits all" approach to therapy takes into account individual and cultural differences. As we build rapport and explore your therapeutic goals, I will implement culturally sensitive and evidence-base interventions (e.g.,CBT, ACT, DBT, EFT, IPT) as needed using a humanistic and strengths-based approach. Your therapeutic treatment plan will be trauma-informed, culturally responsive and sensitive, and take into consideration the intersectionality of your identities. My clinical approach acknowledges how various forms of inequity can present unique challenges for many individuals, which can have a negative impact on physical and mental health and wellness.

Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
Approach Description: My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care integrated from several therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Balance Psychological Services is an affirming, inclusive, and culturally sensitive and responsive practice offering individual therapy for adults. Having worked in a university counseling center for seven years, I have experience supporting undergraduate and graduate students with academic stress, relationships, identity development, and the transition to adulthood. I also work with professionals navigating workplace stress, burnout, and better work-life balance. I often work to support clients navigating anxiety, life transitions, depression, and trauma, and aim to provide a space to slow down, feel understood, and find steadier ground.
All sessions are conducted via the client's TherapyNotes portal, which is a HIPPA compliant platform.
