There really isn't any training growing up about how to create and be in a healthy relationship. We grow up observing how parents and caregivers interact in their relationships and internalize the patterns they exhibited. In relationship, we are sharing those internalized patterns and our partner is sharing theirs. We are a also projecting our wounds and painful memories onto our partner and defending against them. Couples therapy is about promoting healthy communication around each person's needs. In effect, the relationship is the client.

Dr. Florence Rosiello
Therapist, Ph.D.
Most of my work is with people who have difficulty in relationships, either feeling too emotionally isolated or too merged. My strength lies in helping people find a place where they can be in intimate relationships and not lose themselves. Loving is difficult - and feeling loved, is even harder.

Dr. Jason Wang, Inflection Points Therapy
Psychologist, PhD
I offer strengths-based, topic-focused therapy for couples with a generally stable relationship foundation. This work can help partners understand one another more deeply, communicate more clearly about the topic, prepare thoughtfully for challenges, and approach important decisions with greater intentionality. Although I remain attentive to the broader context of your relationship, the specific area bringing you to therapy will remain the primary focus. If you are seeking therapy centered on the relationship as a whole or on concerns spanning multiple areas, comprehensive couples therapy with another provider may be a better fit.
My couples work is limited to three areas:
**Pre-marital or pre-commitment therapy** offers a guided, semi-structured opportunity to prepare for a life together. We may explore communication and conflict, trust and commitment, intimacy, values and expectations, identities and cultures, family and community, finances, careers, work-life balance, and your shared goals and vision for the relationship.
**Financial therapy for couples** focuses on the psychological, emotional, relational, and cultural dimensions of money. Our work may involve understanding each partner’s money history and beliefs, communicating more openly about finances, navigating differences in values or risk tolerance, addressing financial anxiety or avoidance, and approaching shared decisions more collaboratively and intentionally. This service is psychotherapy rather than financial planning or advising.
**LGBTQ+ family-building therapy for couples** supports partners who share a commitment to pursuing parenthood and want help choosing among or navigating possible paths to building their family. This may include assisted reproduction, surrogacy or gestational carrier arrangements, adoption, or other paths to parenthood. Therapy can help you clarify values and priorities, communicate about genetic or gestational connections and family roles, manage medical, legal, logistical, emotional, and financial demands, and navigate uncertainty or setbacks together. This is not discernment therapy focused on whether to become parents.
Across all three services, the goal is to help you engage the topic as a team while making room for each partner’s experiences, needs, values, identities, and perspectives.
