Oakland, California therapist: KT Glusac, counselor/therapist

KT Glusac

Counselor/Therapist, AMFT, APCC
I regard psychotherapy as a sacred practice, a place of ongoing devotion. Each session becomes a ritual space where creativity, playfulness, and curiosity are welcomed in the exploration of the psyche. By staying present and returning again and again to openness, the unknown can be transformed into meaning. This process often carries us into the work of intergenerational healing, allowing energy to return as we reconnect with our roots and uncover our truest selves. In my work with couples, I bring the same relational lens that shapes my individual sessions. A relationship already exists in the room, and I enter into that field with care, gradually weaving myself into its trust. Relational therapy, for me, means working with what is alive in the “here and now,” while also tracing those patterns back to their origins in the “there and then.” Humor and warmth remain vital companions in this work, helping clients stay resourced as we navigate difficult terrain together. My path as a therapist has been shaped by a commitment to both social and spiritual liberation. My training in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies grounded me in depth psychology, while my years in community mental health equipped me with cultural humility, liberation psychology, and healing justice frameworks. Earlier work as a birth worker continues to inform my perspective, reminding me that therapy often mirrors the process of bringing something new into being. I believe every person deserves to rediscover belonging — within themselves, within their bodies, and within the larger web of community and world. In our sessions, you will be supported in recovering what has been lost and discovering what longs to emerge. Our work will unfold at the pace of safety and trust, always guided by trauma-informed care. When you are ready, I will invite you into deeper attunement with your body and its messages, so you may listen more fully to its wisdom. It is my honor to accompany clients in this healing journey.

Orinda, California therapist: John Jakubowski, marriage and family therapist

John Jakubowski

Marriage and Family Therapist, MACP LPCC LMFT
I can make this very easy for you - unless you’re looking for a specific technique the only way to tell if your therapist is a good fit is by being in a relationship with them. This can be virtual or in person, but we’ve known for a long time that the primary determining factor in successful therapy is the alliance. While a resume and creds may be a starting point, I think you’ll find it’s rarely a deciding factor. - For therapy to "work" you have to be vulnerable. To be vulnerable you need to feel safe. To feel safe you need to trust. This is the first layer of a deep, intimate, successful relationship that I model. Some people have never experienced this before - the idea that you can be heard, truly and deeply and not be judged, blamed or put in a box. Walk with me - you're not alone in this.

Berkeley, California therapist: Tatiana Ecoiffier Davis, marriage and family therapist
Children

Tatiana Ecoiffier Davis

Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT
I believe deeply in the power of therapy—so much so that I chose to leave a successful career in the biotechnology industry to pursue this path. I have seen again and again that change is possible, that life can feel lighter, and that a sense of ease within ourselves is attainable. My hope is for everyone to have access to this inner alignment; not only does it help us navigate the uncertainty of life but it also creates the foundation for authentic connection and community in a world that can feel divided. Therapy can be as simple as a conversation or as challenging as allowing ourselves to just be. I am here for the full journey! I am often moved to tears when someone discovers a truth about themselves that has long been waiting to be found. There is nothing more powerful than witnessing a door open that had been closed for too long—watching the heaviness lift and the fresh air of possibility flow in.

I’m Brooke Taylor, Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist offering holistic relational trauma therapy and grief counseling for teens, adults and couples across California. My work centers on helping you reconnect with yourself after loss whether that loss is external, like the death of a loved one or the end of a relationship, or internal, like losing touch with your sense of safety, identity, or belonging. I bring a collaborative, casual, and laid-back approach to therapy, grounded in compassion and curiosity. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to meet you where you’re at, creating a space where your emotions, stories, and inner wisdom are honored. Together, we’ll explore how early experiences and relationships shape the way you move through the world today, helping you process grief, release old patterns, and rebuild trust in yourself. Synapse Therapy and Healing | Alexis Collins, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, MSW, LCSW
Hello! You can call me Lexi. I'm so glad you're taking this step. As a therapist, my greatest passion is helping people move from feeling overwhelmed and disconnected to feeling centered, stable, and deeply safe in themselves. I hold a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California (USC) and have received specialized training in trauma-informed modalities such as CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, and attachment theory. In addition to individual therapy, I have experience working in intensive outpatient programs (IOP), crisis intervention, and community-based services. I’ve supported individuals on probation, survivors of domestic violence, and those who have experienced exploitation or trafficking, offering trauma-informed care with compassion and respect. My background also includes supporting clients through major life transitions, postpartum adjustments, abandonment wounds, relational trauma, and the challenges of coping with borderline traits—especially the impact of stigma, misunderstanding, and invalidation that can deepen emotional wounds. My clinical experience has taught me that true healing comes from a warm, attuned relationship. I approach every session with deep empathy and patience, tailoring our work to your unique needs. Ultimately, I'm here to support you in healing emotional pain, building resilience, and reclaiming your sense of agency in your own life.

San Francisco, California therapist: Dr. Bernadette Hinojos, psychologist

Dr. Bernadette Hinojos

Psychologist, Psy.D
I’m a queer, non-binary psychologist committed to providing inclusive, identity-affirming care for LGBTQIAA+ and BIPOC communities. I became a therapist to support individuals like myself—people navigating complex identities in a world that doesn’t always make space for them—and because I witnessed loved ones struggle to access the mental health support they deserved. Therapy with me is a space to be seen and heard fully—where you can rewrite harmful narratives, reclaim your truth, and move toward healing on your own terms.
