Obviously, play therapy looks different online, but with a few toys on each end and a child who feels safe and seen...watch out, they will create, play and process through what they need to without conscious knowledge or effort of doing so. I am just thankful to be along for the ride!
Most of my talk therapy will come with their parents who I like to work with more consistently than with the child. Helping parents figure out how they are reacting to their children and their children's thoughts, feelings, sensations, urges, and behaviors allow parents to create more comfortable and helpful ways of parenting and interacting with the little human being in their care.
Adolescent human beings are also a joy to connect with.
