Addictions continue to invade families throughout our community. Taking your first step towards sobriety is a big step and I am here to support you. I am Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 20 plus years of experience. I have worked with all aspects of how addiction can eat away at the family system and erode even the best of relationships. I will help you and your loved ones break free from codependent behaviors within the family system while healing the feelings of isolation and pain that results.

Joe Groninga
Psychologist, PsyD, LP
Addiction is something which I have several years of experience treating. People are often surprised to learn that treatment for substance abuse is not at all what they thought it would be. Typically, those with severe addictions will require a lifetime goal of sobriety while those with more mild addictions may acquire the ability to practice “controlled use” of chemicals. We will do a careful assessment of your symptoms so that effective goals for treatment can be established.

Dr. Walter J. Matweychuk
Psychologist, Ph.D.
I have written a book Overcoming Your Addictions which shows you how to apply the principles of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and CBT to your self-defeating addictions. To overcome an addiction you first need to learn to accept yourself unconditionally with your addiction. Your self-defeating addictive behavior does not diminish your worth as a person. Putting yourself down will not help you overcome your addiction. Secondly, you need to learn to build your discomfort tolerance for urges, develop a healthy network of friends who will not lead you back to your addiction, and a vitally absorbing interest in life that makes your life meaningful.

Dr. Adam Shafer
Psychologist, Psy. D., M.A.
Healing from substance abuse and addiction is rarely, if ever achieved through efforts to shame others and oneself. Rather, it requires honesty and a readiness to understand these issues within the context of a person's life that lends itself to an approach of curiosity and kindness.
Peyton Carr (Clear Path Counseling)
Counselor/Therapist, Licensed Social Worker
I have unique experience working with court-ordered addiction counseling. I believe the techniques and approaches used with this population, such as motivational interviewing, would resonate well with anyone experiencing issues with addiction or substance use. To be able to help those that are seeking it on their own would be even more impactful.
