Having a great deal of experience working with children and adolescents in schools and as a counsellor I am able to provide a safe, warm and inviting place to work through any challenges faced.
I have worked young people & their families since the beginning of my career & I am passionate about supporting this age group. I recognise the importance of working within an MDT framework, using trauma informed practice & working closely with families and significant others. For me, adolescence is such an important time for mental health support because it is the last opportunity before adulthood for creating change pathways. I believe it is vital to utilise the brain elasticity of adolesence (whenever possible) to give young people the best start to adulthood they can have.
Psychologist, Masters in Clinical Psychology, Ph.D.
We have recently developed a whole arm of the practice devoted to child and family issues (psychstuff4kids). At this practice we work with a focus on the whole family system. Anxiety is the most common problem in children but we are also often asked to help with school refusal, autism spectrum issues and anger management. In adolescence, anxiety remains prevalent but we also see an depression, self-harm urges and body and eating issues. We have the skilled psychologists and the knowledge to help you to help your kids.
Bay Wellbeing works within a strengths based, biopsychosocial model of care, recognising the importance of the many facets of each child/ adolescent's life.
