At New Dimensions, we have assembled a team of professionals that is dedicated to helping people transform their lives. Our mental health professionals are committed to providing the best treatment possible so that you can overcome the obstacles that keep you from having the life that you want.
Depression has a dangerous tendency to build upon itself. As a result, normal life tasks such as work and relationships start to fall by the wayside. Eventually, doing the bare minimum creates new problems, which cause stress and worsening depression. We will work together to explore the underlying causes of your depression and develop coping mechanisms, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
My objective is to reduce the client's depressed mood and help them return to their previous functioning. The client will receive assistance in addressing the causes of their depression, learning coping mechanisms that reduce their symptoms, and identifying acceptable reactions to their emotions of depression while following other established practices developed for achieving better outcomes.
Depression is nearly always the result of exposure to some form of trauma, whether that is a single catastrophic incident or long term exposure to abuse or neglect. I specialize in working with the role that a person's inner self plays in provoking depression. Specifically, are you someone who has an inner voice that attacks you, or runs you down, or has expectations that are too high to meet? I can help you to transform the way you think and talk to yourself and thereby help to reduce your depression.
In the depths of depression, it can feel like there's no way out. But there is hope, and you don't have to face it alone. As a specialist in counseling clients with depression, I offer a compassionate and understanding space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences without judgment. Together, we'll work to uncover the root causes of your depression and develop personalized strategies to help you regain a sense of joy and purpose in life. Using evidence-based techniques and a holistic approach, I'll support you every step of the way as you journey towards healing and rediscover the light within. You deserve to live a life filled with hope and vitality, and I'm here to help you achieve that.
The two primary therapeutic approaches that I use with clients are both evidence-based treatments for reducing symptoms of depression. Accelerated Resolution Therapy often reduces the negative emotional reaction to depression triggers in an average of 1 to 5 sessions. Cognitive Behavior Therapy helps clients identify and replace the unhelpful thinking that leads to uncomfortable feelings and less preferred actions. Together, these two approaches can help bring faster relief from depression and "clear your headspace" to learn new strategies and tools for helping yourself cope better with life's challenges. (Online therapy is not recommended for all clients. I strongly recommend that clients who are experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm or other high risk symptoms work with a mental health professional in person / face to face therapy.)
I have worked with depressive disorders. If you experience sadness and lack of interest, we will work together to employ strategies to improve your outlook and functioning.
Feeling overwhelmed and in a dark and lonely place? I am here to help you climb out from under your dark cloud. We can work on self-care methods using everyday techniques to help manage the symptoms of depression.
Depression is a wicked beast that likes to hold you in place due to your past experiences. Using CBT to look back at those experiences, we can reframe them to improve our moods and emotions today. Depending on the severity, it may need medication intervention.
