Psychologist, Psy.D
There are many cases where those having thoughts of suicide have been turned away by therapists for being too “high risk” or they were hospitalized without their consent. Unfortunately, many mental health professionals do not possess adequate training in suicide prevention and therefore do not respond appropriately when working with someone with thoughts of suicide. Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services-Suicide Prevention Center in Los Angeles was the first 24-hour suicide crisis line in the world. As their Lead Clinical Supervisor, I helped to develop programs and run support groups for Suicide Attempt Survivors. I continue to travel the country leading trainings in suicide prevention preparing individuals and organizations on how to best work with those impacted by suicide.

Suicidal Thoughts

Dr. Bridget Kromrey

Psychologist, PsyD
I have worked with individuals across the lifespan who experience suicidal thoughts, self harm, and who have attempted suicide. I believe therapy is a unique space where we can explore these vulnerable thoughts and behaviors, while creating a space to promote safety, coping, and change. Suicidal thoughts can often leave individuals feeling more isolate and alone. My hope is through therapy, these experiences can feel less lonely.

Dr. Nicole Parkes

Psychologist, PsyD
I approach the delicate issue of suicidal thoughts with deep compassion and understanding. I recognize the profound pain and despair that can lead to such thoughts, enveloping one's existence in shadows. My commitment is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where these feelings can be expressed and explored with sensitivity. Together, we will work to uncover and address the underlying issues, fostering a renewed sense of hope and purpose. It's a journey towards healing, where each step is taken with care and the ultimate goal is to rediscover the light within, illuminating a path away from despair and towards a life filled with meaning and connection.
