Will Salter - Connected Man Counselling (He/Him)

Counselor/Therapist, ACA member, L2 IFS trained, Diploma of Counselling
therapist: Will Salter - Connected Man Counselling,
Online in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom (Online Only)
My focus is on supporting men as they work through stress, anger, disconnection, and self-doubt. By encouraging honesty, vulnerability, and emotional clarity, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space to explore the challenges that show up in relationships, work, fatherhood, or identity. Counselling here isn’t about “fixing” you—it’s about guiding you back into connection: with yourself, your core values, and the people who matter most, so you can move forward with greater clarity and purpose. I see counselling as a collaborative and creative process, shaped by the needs and direction of each person I work with. My role is to offer steady support while creating room for healing, growth, and meaningful change. Ultimately, my aim is to help you deepen your relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
Approach Description: I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and integrate a variety of other evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based practices.
