Sara Ridley Counseling Practice (She/Her)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LISW
Online in Ohio, South Carolina
(Online Only)
I provide online therapy to individuals across Ohio who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, fertility challenges, and the emotional transitions of pregnancy and parenthood. With over 15 years of experience as a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I offer compassionate, trauma-informed care grounded in evidence-based practices. I have completed Postpartum Support International’s Components of Care and Advanced Psychotherapy trainings and specialize in perinatal and reproductive mental health.
My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. I help clients better understand their nervous systems, mood patterns, and relational dynamics so they can feel more stable, empowered, and connected. Whether you are preparing for parenthood, coping with postpartum changes, processing a traumatic experience, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, therapy can be a space to slow down, make meaning, and build resilience.

Treatment Approach
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Psychosocial Therapy Looks at how social and environmental factors affect psychological health. It emphasizes relationships, community, and resilience.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: I believe in taking a client-centered & solution-focused approach to help you address the issues that bring you to counseling & to help you explore aspects of your life that need either resolution or changes. I often do CBT with clients & will pull from other frameworks too. I
